The Maryland University of Integrative Health (formerly known as Tai Sophia Institute Center for the Healing Arts) is one of the country’s preeminent academic institutions for wellness based education, clinical care, research and public policy discourse that integrates eastern and western thinking and healing practices. Its accredited graduate school offers degree and certificate programs in acupuncture, nutrition, holistic health and wellness and other complementary and alternative medicine disciplines.
Phase I involved finding the 13 acre site and developing the 33,000 square foot building on the site into administrative and academic offices, classrooms and clinic.
Phase II was the development of a master plan for the full campus site. Implementation of the plan is expected to begin in 2016.
