Project Description

Glenn Dale, Maryland

This private school project involved the development of a new 15 acre campus to support the relocation and expansion of portions of its existing school into an enlarged middle school (grades 5-8) and a new pre- school and kindergarten intended to accommodate a total of 424 students.

Phase I involved the construction of a one-story building housing 30,000 square feet of classrooms and multipurpose areas along with associated parking and play fields. Phase II added an additional 10,000 square feet to the existing building for more classrooms. Phase III will include 30,000 square feet of additional classrooms and a multipurpose gymnasium/auditorium.

Phase III is complete through the design and permitting stages. To meet facility needs prior to completion of Phase III, a 20,000 square foot inflatable structure was developed on the campus.

“My primary job is to run a school and I have been able to continue to focus on that while Synthesis uses their contacts and expertise to navigate the process. I have recommended Synthesis for several other jobs including some with the Diocese of Washington because I feel so strongly about their ability to do what needs to be done.”
