Synthesis provided overall project development management services for the adaptive re-use of a 52,088 square foot industrial flex space building’s transformation to a church. The project included offices, educational facilities, 6,000 square foot lobby and 1,200 seat theatrically outfitted auditorium.
Phase 1 of the project, consisting of 35,762 square feet, including everything except the main auditorium, was completed in November 2006. Adapting the 16,326 square foot, 23-foot high-bay space in Phase 2 involved providing raked seating in the lower bowl, stadium seating in the back, and removal of four interior columns to improve sight lines. The column removal involved an innovative mast and above roof tension rod support system for the existing roof structure.
Phase 2 of the project was completed in December 2007. During the interim period until the auditorium was completed, the church conducted services in the 6,000 square foot Lobby and sent video feeds to an adjacent 250 seat meeting room.
Services provided by Synthesis included managing site acquisition, space programming, design, permitting, coordination of consultants, construction oversight, and negotiation of off-site parking agreements.
